Madison County and the Towns of Ennis, Sheridan, and Twin Bridges have been working with FEMA, Montana DNRC and neighboring counties to conduct new flood studies and update floodplain maps on the Madison, Jefferson and Ruby Rivers and Tributaries. Updated floodplain maps will provide more reliable and detailed information about flood-prone areas. Previous FEMA floodplain maps and Madison County flood prone maps are based on data from the 1980s and 1990s.
Postcard notifications were mailed to affected property owners with dates of two public open house meetings. Public open houses meetings are an opportunity for affected property owners to obtain more information and learn how the proposed mapping changes may directly affect your property.
