A permit is required for all septic systems or wastewater treatment systems installed in Madison County. All wastewater systems shall be installed by a Madison County Licensed Installer.

To obtain a septic permit the following must be submitted to the Madison County Sanitarian Office:

1. Madison County Wastewater Treatment System Application

2a. Copy of Nondegradation Analysis IAW with ARM 17.30.7 for lots greater than 20 acres or created prior to the Sanitation in Subdivisions Act.

OR

2b. Copy of the DEQ Subdivision Approval and site plan showing approved drainfield and well locations for lots less than 20 acres with DEQ Approval.
